Can I import my existing devices into Velory's ITAM?
Yes, you can add all your existing devices using two methods: upload a CSV file (Velory offers a template), or make manual entries. This last method is recommended when you want to only add a few devices or handle specific hardware updates. Note that for devices bought through the Velory Store, all data is automatically added to your Velory ITAM.
How can I make sure all the information of my devices are up-to-date at Velory?
For those devices managed through an MDM system, the data from your MDM will automatically be updated at Velory daily. For devices added to your ITAM, but not to your MDM (e.g.: headphones and screens), you can manage the data directly at Velory. The simplest method is to download your data from Velory and edit the specific information, then upload the updated CSV file to Velory again.
How does Velory’s ITAM differ from a Mobile Device Management (MDM) system?
While both systems manage devices, Velory's ITAM focuses on the entire lifecycle of hardware assets, from procurement to disposal. This includes tracking hardware inventory, costs, and allocation within your company’s teams. MDM, on the other hand, is primarily concerned with the security and configuration of mobile devices.Velory is fully integrated with several MDM systems, so you can have full visibility of your hardware data in one place.
