Workwize alternatives for teams in Europe (2026)

Six tools compared on what matters when your people sit in several European countries.

Six tools compared on what matters when your people sit in several European countries. Every competitor fact comes from the vendor's own website, as of September 2026. Workwize is a good choice if what you need is hardware delivered to and collected from employees in many countries, handled by one provider.

But teams tend to look elsewhere for one of three reasons:

  • they want software licences and mobile subscriptions next to the laptop, in one place,
  • they want to keep buying from their own suppliers, or
  • they're below the 150-user minimum on Workwize's entry plan.

For those cases, six alternatives are worth a look: Velory, Tequipy, Deel IT, Primo, Firstbase and Rippling.

What does Workwize do well?

Workwize was founded in Amsterdam in 2020 and says it equips employees in more than 120 countries, sourcing devices from local suppliers with delivery in under five days. At the other end of the lifecycle it runs retrieval with pickup and tracking, claims retrieval rates of up to 96%, and wipes devices to NIST 800-88 with an erasure certificate for every serial number before they're refurbished, resold, recycled or disposed of.

It lists 82 HRIS, MDM and identity connectors, holds ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II, and says most teams are fully onboarded in two to four weeks. Pricing is set by seats and regions, with no per-device or per-shipment charges. If getting laptops into and out of many countries is the whole problem, that's a strong package.

Why do teams look for Workwize alternatives?

Going by what Workwize describes on its own site, these are the gaps that send people looking:

1) Software and mobile. The site covers hardware. Software licences, AI tools and mobile subscriptions aren't mentioned, so when someone leaves, the laptop comes back but the licences and the phone plan sit in another tool.

2) Your own suppliers. Workwize sources from local suppliers and says it works alongside your existing procurement setup, but it doesn't say you can order through the suppliers you already have agreements with. If those agreements matter to you, ask.

3) Team size. Its entry plan lists a minimum of 150 users, and the larger plans are priced through sales.

How should teams in Europe compare the alternatives?

Six checks separate the tools quickly:

1) Whether you see everything in one place. Laptops only, or licences, AI tools and phone plans too, in one view per employee.

2) Whose suppliers you buy from, and where devices ship from. The vendor's catalogue, your own agreements, or a mix that differs per country. If devices ship from a warehouse in another country, ask who handles customs, import VAT and duties, and how many days that adds. It matters most between the EU and the UK, Switzerland or Norway, which sit outside the EU customs union. Buying from a local supplier in each market avoids most of it.

3) What happens when someone leaves. Return, wipe and buyout, and whether licences and the SIM are closed in the same flow as the laptop.

4) Where your data is processed, and which certifications back it up.

5) How it starts from your HR system. A new hire or a leaver there should be enough to start the process, without someone copying it into another tool.

6) Whether it acts or just shows you. Some tools record what you have. Others flag the licence nobody uses, suggest the spare laptop before you buy a new one and start the leaver's return when HR sets the date. Ask each vendor what happens without anyone clicking.

How do the Workwize alternatives compare?

Comparison of six Workwize alternatives for teams in Europe (Velory, Tequipy, Deel IT, Primo, Firstbase, Rippling) by best use, how you buy hardware, what you see in one place, and where each is based and hosts data. Facts as of September 2026.

How did we place these tools?

We placed each tool by how well it answers the reasons people leave Workwize, from the point of view of a team in Europe: one view beyond hardware, freedom to keep your own suppliers, and a clear answer on where data is handled. Velory sits first because it's the only tool here that puts mobile subscriptions on the same employee record as hardware and software. A lower place doesn't mean a worse product: several of these tools do the physical logistics well, if logistics is the only thing you want to solve and you don't need the full IT asset overview. For the wider market, see our ranking of the best IT lifecycle management software.

Which Workwize alternatives are worth a look?

1. Velory

Velory is the engine that runs IT lifecycle management around each employee. It acts on what it sees: it flags the licences nobody uses, offers a returned laptop before anyone orders a new one, catches renewals before they charge and starts the right steps when HR registers a joiner or a leaver. Everything a person has sits on one record (laptop, phone, software licences, AI tools and phone plan), so you see all of it in one view.

One view of every employee's IT: Who has what, what it costs and where each asset is in its life, in one place. Ask questions of your data in plain language and get the answer as a table or chart. When someone leaves, nothing is hiding in another tool.

Your suppliers, one or several per market: Order from them in one company store, where new hires can pick their equipment before their first day. Add or change suppliers whenever it suits you, while you keep working in the same system.

Offboarding that closes the loop: The leaver sees what they hold and confirms what they're sending back, with buyout if your policy allows it. Licences are reclaimed and phone plans closed in the same flow.

Reuse before you buy: Spare and returned devices show up at the moment someone wants to order, and retired ones go to certified end-of-life through ITAD partners.

Software and AI spend you can see: Velory compares real usage with what you pay for and grades each service A to D, so you know which seats to cut before the renewal date. Hardware leases get the same reminder.

Workflows built around your process: Add the processes your company already runs into Velory: the joiner, mover and leaver steps, the approvals and the rules per team or country. When someone moves to another company in your group, their equipment can move with them.

A fast start, with EU data: Velory reads supplier invoices and spreadsheets into asset records, so nobody types them in. It then reconciles them with what your MDM and HR system report, and each device and person ends up as one record instead of three. Connect 40+ integrations, including Intune, Jamf and Iru. Velory is ISO 27001 certified and uses EU-based processors only. Playground Tech went live in under a week.

Best for: companies looking to see every employee's IT in one place, across several European countries or group companies, and to close the loop on laptops, licences and phone plans when people leave.

Trade-offs: Velory doesn't run its own warehouses or couriers, so shipping, storage and collection go through the suppliers and partners you connect.

2. Tequipy

Tequipy's own line is "Full hardware lifecycle. In 180+ countries." It sources devices locally at recommended retail price with no mark-ups, wipes them with certification, buys them back at fair market value and collects them in about five days. It connects to HiBob, BambooHR, Workday, Jamf and Intune, holds ISO 27001, and has offices in London, Kraków and Warsaw. The platform is free under 100 devices and $99 a month from 100 devices, with the HRIS integration $199 a month extra and services paid as you go.

Best for: smaller distributed teams that want hardware handled without mark-ups or minimums.

Trade-offs: it covers hardware only, so software licences and mobile subscriptions live in another tool. Devices are sourced through Tequipy, so check how that fits supplier agreements you already have.

3. Deel IT

Deel IT runs device operations as part of Deel's wider HR and payroll product. It sells devices from its own catalogue and also manages devices you already own, covering ordering, MDM enrolment and offboarding in 130+ countries. App access is granted and removed by role and employment status. In May 2026 Deel acquired Sastrify, a SaaS procurement and management company, to bring licence purchasing, renewals and spend management into Deel IT. Deel holds ISO 27001 and SOC 2, and says its primary operations run in Ireland, with disaster recovery in France.

Best for: companies that already run HR or payroll on Deel and want devices in the same place.

Trade-offs: the product is device-led today. Its IT product pages present software mainly as app access, with licence purchasing, renewals and spend management being added through the Sastrify acquisition, so ask what's available now. Mobile plans aren't described.

4. Primo

Primo pitches itself as "the unified IT platform built for the AI era". Its own MDM sits next to device ordering and leasing, resale of old devices through partners, and reclaiming SaaS seats nobody uses, with 200+ tools connected. It's SOC 2 Type II and GDPR compliant, based near Paris with data hosted in France, and prices are modular and usage-based.

Best for: lean IT teams that want device management, ordering and SaaS seats in one product.

Trade-offs: new hardware is ordered or leased through Primo's own catalogue, and its site doesn't mention ordering through suppliers you already use. Mobile subscriptions aren't covered, and it doesn't name a certified erasure standard or offer an erasure certificate at end of life.

5. Firstbase

Firstbase calls itself "the single IT asset management platform for globally distributed teams", and one detail stands out for European buyers: you can use its vendor network, lease through it, or supply your own devices. It ships in 150+ countries from regional hubs, claims a 97% retrieval rate, wipes to NIST standards with chain of custody and pays resale credits quarterly. Its help center says data is hosted in AWS facilities in Ireland. It connects to HR systems such as HiBob and Workday and to Jamf, Intune, Iru and Mosyle. AppDirect acquired Firstbase in December 2024.

Best for: globally distributed teams that want logistics handled and the freedom to supply some of their own devices.

Trade-offs: it's US-registered and lists SOC 2 and NIST; ISO 27001 isn't listed on its site. Its site doesn't describe software licence or mobile subscription management.

6. Rippling

Rippling's device management lives next to its HR and payroll products. It's an authorised reseller for Macs and PCs, with its device store available in the US and Canada, and it warehouses devices in the US and 26+ other countries, sends a return box at offboarding and wipes devices remotely. It holds SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 and CSA STAR Level 2, and connects to 600+ SaaS apps.

Best for: companies that want IT run from the same system as their HR and already use Rippling for that.

Trade-offs: devices are bought through Rippling's store, which serves the US and Canada, so check how teams in Europe would order. Its security page says data sits in US-based AWS data centres, and its device pages don't cover mobile subscriptions.

So which Workwize alternative should you pick?

Start from the reason you're looking. If laptops are the whole job and you'd rather have no minimum, look at Tequipy, and if HR and payroll already run on Deel, Deel IT is the natural fit. A small IT team that wants MDM and SaaS seats in one product will get on well with Primo, while Firstbase suits teams that want a global vendor network but still supply some devices themselves. And if you want each employee's laptop, licences, AI tools and phone plan side by side, with your own suppliers in each country, that's the job Velory was built for.

Whichever tools make your shortlist, ask each vendor to walk you through one real leaver, from the HR event to the last licence closed. Want to see that in Velory? Take the product tour and follow one employee from their first day to their last.

Frequently asked questions

Is Workwize any good?

Yes, for what it's built to do. It handles hardware sourcing, delivery, retrieval and certified wiping in more than 120 countries, and holds ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II. It fits less well if you want software licences and mobile subscriptions alongside your hardware, if you want to choose your own suppliers per market (one or several) and keep the freedom to add or change them, or if your company is below the 150-user minimum on its entry plan.

What are the best Workwize alternatives for teams in Europe?

It depends on the gap you're filling. For one view of every employee's IT, with your own suppliers, Velory. For hardware at retail price with no minimum, Tequipy. For companies on Deel's HR product, Deel IT. For an MDM-first product with data hosted in France, Primo.

Which Workwize alternative also manages software licences and mobile subscriptions?

Of the tools on this page, Velory is the only one whose site covers mobile subscriptions, and it keeps them on the same employee record as hardware and software. Primo and Rippling cover SaaS next to devices, and Deel is adding licence management to Deel IT through its Sastrify acquisition.

Can I keep buying from my own IT suppliers?

With Velory you use the suppliers that suit each market, one or several, and can add or change them while you keep working in the same system. Firstbase lets you supply your own devices. The others mainly source hardware through their own catalogue or partners.

Where do these tools store my data?

Ask every vendor directly. Going by their own sites: Velory uses EU-based processors only, Primo hosts data in France, Deel says its primary operations run in Ireland and Firstbase hosts in AWS facilities in Ireland. Rippling's security page says US-based AWS data centres, and Tequipy's privacy policy lists processors in the EU, the UK and the US. Workwize doesn't state a hosting location on the pages we checked.
