Moving from Excel to Intune-connected asset tracking
Intune knows which devices are enrolled, who each one’s primary user is and how it’s configured. It doesn’t track what a laptop cost, which supplier it came from or when the lease ends, and it can’t see devices that were never enrolled, like spares in storage. That’s usually why the spreadsheet survives next to Intune.
Velory connects to Intune and picks up your Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS and Android devices on an hourly sync. Each device lands on the employee who holds it, next to what Intune doesn't track: cost, supplier, contract or lease, and where it is in its IT lifecycle, from the first order to certified end of life.
You start from the spreadsheet you already have. Upload it as CSV or Excel, and Velory matches the rows against what Intune reports, so you keep your purchase dates and costs without creating duplicates.

Get started with your Microsoft Intune - Velory integration
To get started and enable this integration, simply log on to your admin account in Velory, then navigate to your account settings. In the left side navigation bar, go to “Connections”. You will see "Microsoft Intune" in the list of services.
Once connected, your hardware previously added to Velory will automatically be enriched with data from Microsoft Intune.
Data availability
Once connected, your hardware will be updated with the latest information (of your choice) from Microsoft Intune:
- Device name, model and manufacturer
- Operating system and platform
- Enrollment date and last check-in
- Company or personal ownership
- Encryption status
- Storage and memory
FAQ
We use Intune but track assets in Excel. Can Velory replace the spreadsheet?
Yes. Connect Intune, upload your spreadsheet, and Velory matches the two, so every device has one record with its owner, cost, supplier and lease. Intune keeps the device data current from then on.
What does Velory sync from Intune?
Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS and Android devices, with model, operating system, enrollment date, last check-in, ownership, encryption status, storage and memory. The sync runs every hour.
Does Velory replace Intune?
No. Intune keeps managing and securing your devices. Velory runs the IT lifecycle around them: who has which device, what it costs, and what happens when someone joins, changes role or leaves.
Can we connect more than one Intune tenant?
Yes. Velory supports several Intune tenants at once, which helps if your group companies each run their own.
What about devices that aren't in Intune?
Velory also connects to Jamf, Iru, Apple Business and Google device management, and you can add devices from a spreadsheet or from supplier invoices, so everything sits in the same place.
