Ulrica Frisk Forsman is the CEO & Co-Founder of Businesspassion, and a consultant at IHM Business School, and Convendum, and Travel Education Centre. In our weekly interview series, she shares her unique insights on productivity, leadership, and offers valuable career advice.
1. How many days per week do you prefer to work from home and why?
I have found a dream combination that gives me both energy and creativity. I work at home 2 days a week and 3 days at the office. Meeting live is outstandingly the best way to build relationships with customers and colleagues, so I try to spend as many days as possible in our co-working office in Convendum or at my clients’ offices. On the days I work at home, I focus on creative work such as presentations and manuscripts.
2. What is a hidden treasure among apps for you — a favorite application of yours that might be unknown to many?
Apps I use everyday to create digital marketing and social selling are Canva, Mailchimp and LinkedIn. Apps that have made my job easier are Mojo and Eventbrite.
3. Any tips on how to use AI in daily life or work? What is your company policy around it?
AI has made my job easier with presentations and preparation in my work as a speaker. I create presentations, images and gather materials from AI tools on a daily basis. In my job as sales manager, we use AI in digital sales such as Mailchimp, Leadpilot and Upsales.
4. What's your most important work tool, making you productive?
In my work as a teacher and speaker, I use my clients’ work tools, often Outlook, Drive, Excel, PowerPoint. My most important tools are Canva, YouTube, Google Drive and LinkedIn Learning.
5. What career tips would you give your younger self?
Dare to aim for your dream job early in your career and build a strong network that you develop and be inspired by.
6. What is your view on employee choice, i.e. flexibility for employees to choose their hardware and software?
My staff usually chooses Mac as we work a lot with design and layout in social media and digital marketing. We use the software needed to do the job best.
7. What is an ideal new employee onboarding experience?
We do everything to ensure that new colleagues feel joy, enthusiasm and are curious to take in as much knowledge as possible. We make an onboarding plan to give our colleagues a safe foundation to stand on. But we encourage the employees to take their own initiative and dare to trust their intuition.
